The space in which we live and use is complex and rich in many spatial elements, layers and qualities. This studio focuses on these issues, dismantling and reassembling those spatial qualities that form the basis of architecture through samples of space and the reality we are familiar with while re-examining it at the various scales.
Each student does this by developing his or her own unique language, through various two- and three-dimensional mapping tools of physical phenomena and patterns of existence in space.
The semester includes a series of exercises that deal with space, time, action and culture through a personal and specific perspective of each student. Students are asked to look at their environment and develop creative tools that enable representation, analysis and re-examination of this environment.
